You’ve heard about MTG Commander format, where you have 40 life, a commander in a command zone, 99 other cards in your library, and only one of each card.
Well brawl is exactly like commander, except you have 59 cards in your library (for a total of 60 cards in deck), 30 life, and officially you can only use standard legal cards.
I would be interested to make a Pirate, Dinosaur, or Merfolk deck in this setup, but I think my playgroup will probably stick to commander because we’ve got a lot of long term players with older collections.
What do you think of the new format?
The only one I’d really want to try making is a Valduk, Keeper of the Flame deck. You basically run a deck of equipments and enchantments and attach all of them to Valduk. He gets powerful, and also creates a bunch of temporary goblins each turn.
I’m not sure it’d be good, but it’d be fun at the very least.
